About It's a Good Feeling - Recycled Shopping Totes

Welded Junk GateMy name is Chris. I was born in ‘54 and have seen a lot of changes. Our universal environment is struggling and I wanted to do something to get people started thinking in a more cosmic way. The day after Christmas 07, I came up with “It’s a good feeling” as a foundation for uplifting thoughts to imprint on reusable bags. I had been reusing bags for my shopping. but I didn’t like to advertise for a big retailer or grocery chain when I used their bag over again, especially at other stores.

Stump StoolSo began my cosmic journey to establish “It’s a good feeling.” The first extraordinary thing: “It’s a good feeling” as a .com hadn’t been taken. Next on New Years Eve I got the last booth space in the food section of a “green” Home Show. By Jan. 2nd, I got someone started on my web site and ordered bags with our designs. This was all to be ready Jan.25th for the Good Earth Show.

TeapotEverything was flowing and I was acting on it, all within a week. I feel this is a positive step for me and what I want contribute to the environment. Reusing and recycling should be part of our everyday thoughts and actions. Since a young age, I was always reusing and remaking items from old stuff. Went to a lot of garage sales over the years. From the late 70’s through the mid 90’s I made and sold items at craft show. Mostly were made from recycled materials. I made birdhouses out of old barn wood and frames of pruned tree branches and old barbed wire. I even made teddy bears out of old wool sweaters that I felted in the washer and dryer.

My craft show days are over and now I do a lot of junk recycling in my yard. I embed recycled metal and other interesting junk in concrete work. I have people stop by to look at my yard. I also do mosaics with glass tile but also incorporate reused items like dinner plates, beads, shells, found objects.
